Riso Vialone Nano IGP from Ferron in Veneto is one of Italy's most traditional rice varieties. This small-grain round rice has been cultivated in the Po Valley for centuries and enjoys a special status thanks to its protected designation of origin (IGP). Its grains are smaller than those of Carnaroli, but have an ideal starch content, which gives it an incomparably tender and creamy consistency. Ferron's artisanal husking process preserves the fine structure and brings out the characteristic flavors of this rice variety.

Vialone Nano is considered one of the finest varieties for risotto preparation and is particularly appreciated for creamy, velvety dishes. Thanks to its excellent absorbency, it blends harmoniously with broths, spices, and wine without losing its shape. In Veneto, it is traditionally used for specialties such as “Risotto all'Amarone” or “Risotto con i Peoci” (with mussels).
