Bric del Gaian from Distillerie Berta is a barrel-aged grappa of great elegance and aromatic depth, whose amber color already hints at its long maturation in wooden barrels. Distilled from the pomace of the aromatic Moscato grape, this spirit has matured for several years in selected barriques, developing a complex yet soft and harmonious structure. The bouquet is multi-layered and inviting: aromas of clary sage, delicate forest fruits, grapefruit, and vanilla intertwine with a subtle wood note to create a multifaceted, elegantly matured fragrance that brings out the character of Piedmont and the aromatics of Moscato in a special way.
On the palate, Bric del Gaian impresses with its rich, silky expression, in which fruit, wood, and spice interact harmoniously. The long maturation period gives the grappa a velvety texture and a long, warm finish, in which the aromas of vanilla and ripe fruit linger and round off the enjoyment. The name pays homage to the “Bric del Gaian,” the gently rolling hill in Monferrato where the grapes once grew and which still belongs to the distillery's landscape today - a reference to the close connection between this distillate and the traditional wine-growing region of Piedmont and the Bertas family history, who have been producing high-quality grappas here since the 1940s. - Gerardo [TS10/09]
