Chianti DOCG | Classic
There is Chianti for all days and for Sundays, for the most beautiful social occasions, for meetings with good friends. And then there is Chianti, whose best Riservas are considered superior. Whichever Chianti, it is a good wine for all days, because it never gets over. Known for its elegance, for its intense red color, for the harmony that surprises even the most inexperienced wine connoisseur. Even outside the prestigious Chianti Classico core zone there are good to very good wines, divided into six different zones:
From the Colli Fiorentini comes a quaffable Chianti, usually to be drunk young, from the hills around Florence. On the hills around Siena, Chianti Colli Senesi is produced, partly based on Sangiovee grapes such as those of Brunello and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Chianti Aretini from Arezzo are harmonious wines with delicate aromas of red berries. The Chianti Colline Pisane are light and fresh wines from the hills around Pisa. From the Carmignano area comes Chianti Montalbano, a fruity and dry wine. Chianti Montespertoli, south of Florence, is a soft, fruity and fresh red wine. Last but not least, the Chianti Rufina, an elegant wine from the area east of Florence, which is well suited for aging. - Gerardo
