Attilio Contini, Sardegna
This Valle del Tirso Rosso is prepared from the native Sardinian grape variety Nieddera. The color in the glass is a clear ruby red with garnet highlights. The nose is intense and fruity of Amarena cherries and some vanilla. The palate is dry, punchy, of noticeable tannin and fine structure.
The Nieddera grape variety is autochthonous (indigenous) to Sardinia, where it is grown almost exclusively in the lower Tirso Valley under favorable climatic conditions. The resulting wines are well structured and discreetly bitter, although not easily accessible. - Gerardo [TS12/19]

Mamaioa shows ruby red color with garnet reflections in the glass. The aroma is vinous and fruity of red fruits, floral meadow and vegetal aromas. Concentrated and fruity on the palate. Despite the presence of fruit sweetness, a red with a strong character.
This relatively new wine in the Contini portfolio was produced entirely without added sulfites and also not filtered. Thus, there may be harmless tartaric deposits at the bottom of the bottle. - Gerardo [TS12/21]

The color in the glass is a dark ruby red with garnet highlights. The nose is intense, with hints of red fruits and spices, underpinned by balsamic notes. The palate is soft and warm, balanced by finely honed tannins and freshness. - Gerardo [TS12/17]
The namesake giants are a reference to the giants of Mont'e Prama, formerly freestanding sandstone cult statues of the Sardinian nuragic culture. In 1974, the farmer Sisinnio Poddi plowed out the head of one of these statues on the Sinis Peninsula. The forty years of excavation campaigns brought to light other statues, nuraghe models and wall remains. The age of the giants of Mont'e Prama indicates that the oldest free-standing large sculpture in Europe was created in Sardinia, even before a similar development began in Greece.

The powerful Barrile comes from the lower Tirso Valley and is almost entirely made from the native grape variety Nieddera: the color in the glass is an intense ruby red with garnet inclusions. The aroma is complex and intense, with delicate spicy and fruity notes. The palate is dense and mild, always balsamic and accompanied by pleasant wood spice. - Gerardo [TS12/16]
"Barrile is an austere, dense wine with intense hints of dark red fruit and maquis. On the palate, freshness and spice refine the imposing body, while the soft, silky tannins give it quaffable drinking pleasure." - Gambero Rosso
