  Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona's Rosso di Montalcino impressively demonstrates how the great Sangiovese Grosso grape variety is interwoven with clear origins and style in Tuscany. The vines grow on the sunny slopes of Castelnuovo dell'Abate in Montalcino on calcareous and marly soils, which give the wine a delicate minerality. After selective hand harvesting, the grapes are processed with the utmost care: temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks or cement, followed by aging in large Slavonian oak barrels, gives depth and elegance without sacrificing the lively freshness of the variety.

In the glass, it unfolds in a bright ruby red with delicate garnet reflections—a visual promise of style and expressiveness. The nose reveals aromas of wild cherry, raspberry, and fresh wild berries, complemented by delicate toasted aromas of tobacco and licorice, as well as a hint of Mediterranean scrub and undergrowth that make the terroir palpable.
