  The “Pianrosso” Brunello di Montalcino from Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona is an impressive single vineyard wine from the renowned Brunello di Montalcino appellation: It comes exclusively from the oldest Sangiovese Grosso vines in the “Pianrosso” vineyard, whose iron- and clay-rich galestro and marl soils give it an exceptionally clear origin. With a keen eye for tradition, each grape is harvested by hand, processed at a moderate temperature, and then aged for several years in large Slavonian oak barrels—steps that give the wine its depth and maturity without masking the lively varietal fruit.

In the glass, Pianrosso displays a deep ruby red color with garnet red glints—a visual promise of concentration and elegance. The nose is filled with aromas of dark cherries and weathered wild berries, complemented by noble hints of leather, tobacco, and undergrowth, as well as a salty mineral trace that makes the terroir palpable. On the palate, velvety yet pronounced tannins combine with supple fruit and stylish length - the finish is long-lasting, elegant, and shows great aging potential.
