  The Prio Sicilia Lucido from Donnafugata is a pure expression of the indigenous Lucido variety (synonymous with Catarratto), cultivated on the calcareous and clayey soils of the Tenuta Contessa Entellina in southwestern Sicily. The name “Prio,” which means ‘joy’ or “happiness” in Sicilian dialect, aptly describes the feeling this wine evokes. The wine is produced using tank fermentation and short maturation periods in stainless steel tanks, followed by a resting period in the bottle, so that the varietal purity and origin are clearly expressed.

In the glass, Prio displays a light straw yellow color with greenish reflections—a visual indication of freshness and lightness. The nose reveals floating aromas of white elderflower, grapefruit, and cedar wood, flanked by delicate herbal and citrus notes such as thyme and sage. On the palate, this white wine presents itself with a clear structure, lively fruit, and a noticeable minerality that hints at the Sicilian terroir.
