Gewürztraminer DOC 2025

  The Gewürztraminer from the Kaltern Winery is a prime example of the aromatic diversity of this grape variety, which has been cultivated in South Tyrol for centuries. The grapes come from the hills around Lake Kaltern, where the calcareous soils and mild climate provide ideal conditions for the ripening of this delicate variety. After late harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and undergo a short cold maceration to extract the intense aromas. This is followed by gentle pressing and natural must clarification before fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. The wine then matures for several months on the fine lees in stainless steel, which gives it additional complexity.

In the glass, Gewürztraminer presents itself in a bright, golden yellow hue. The bouquet is intense and complex, with pronounced aromas of rose petals, lychee, and tropical fruits such as pineapple. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and creamy, with a harmonious balance between fruit and freshness. The finish is long and aromatic, making the wine an ideal accompaniment to Asian dishes, spicy foods, or mild cheeses.
