Weißburgunder DOC 2025

  The Pinot Bianco from the Kaltern Winery is a delicate representative of its variety, with a balanced blend of freshness and elegance. Originating from high-quality vineyards around Lake Kaltern, it conveys the character of its origin through slightly chalky soils and a temperate climate that allows the grapes to ripen slowly. At the winery, great importance is attached to gentle whole-cluster pressing, followed by controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks - this preserves the clarity typical of the variety. At the same time, a short period of fine lees aging provides additional depth and a smooth texture.

In the glass, the wine reveals itself in a light straw yellow color and seduces with the scent of ripe pears, Golden Delicious apples, and a subtle hint of quince. There is a fine mineral undertone reminiscent of fresh limestone, which gives the wine an exciting tension. On the palate, it is juicy, with a pleasant structure and a clear, focused finish - without losing any of its playfulness. This Pinot Blanc is an example of how traditional varietal typicity and modern winemaking are in harmony in South Tyrol and is wonderful with light starters, fish, or as an elegant aperitif. - Gerardo [TS10/26]
