Lagrein DOC 2023

  The Lagrein red wine from the Kurtatsch Winery is an authentic expression of South Tyrolean winemaking: the grapes grow on the sunny slopes of Kurtatsch on sandy and loamy soils with porphyry and dolomite components—a combination that gives the variety depth, minerality, and character. In the cellar, careful processing follows with controlled maceration in stainless steel tanks and a resting phase in large wooden barrels, which brings out the dark fruit and creates a fine-grained texture.

In the glass, Lagrein displays a deep garnet to ruby red color with violet reflections—a visual promise of its concentration and style. The nose reveals intense aromas of sour cherry and wild berries, accompanied by violet and spice notes that hint at its Alpine origins and the terroir of the South Tyrolean Unterland region.
