The Duca Sanfelice impressively demonstrates the potential of the Calabrian Gaglioppo grape variety and impresses with its ruby red color and fine orange reflections. Its bouquet unfolds notes of ripe forest fruits, delicately underpinned by hints of vanilla and licorice, which give it a special depth. On the palate, the wine is harmonious and balanced, with fine fruit and spicy notes supported by supple tannins. Gerardo's Notes: Neben dem Gravello geniesst auch der Duca Sanfelice von Librandi einen sehr hohen Bekanntheitsgrad. Es handelt sich um eine Ciro Riserva, welche aus den besten handverlesenen Gaglioppo Trauben gewonnen und durch dreijährige Reifung veredelt wird. Mit diesem kalabresischem Original stellt Librandi eindrucksvoll das Potenzial der Gaglioppo Traube unter Beweis, es ist ein eigenständiger und kräftiger Rotwein mit Ausdruck und Terroirbezug, dabei behält diese Ciro Riserva immer die typische Eleganz und ist niemals opulent. Der 'Duca' ist eines der Aushängeschilder von Librandi und war bis vor kurzem auch durch das historische Etikett berühmt, welches leider in der Neuzeit durch ein einheitliches Design ersetzt wurde.
