Marsuret - Prosecco tradition from the heart of Valdobbiadene
The Marsuret winery is deeply rooted in the green hills of Valdobbiadene - one of the most renowned regions for high-quality Prosecco. Founded between the two world wars by Agostino Marsura, the winery's history began with the purchase of a vineyard in the Val de Cune in Guia di Valdobbiadene. There he produced his first naturally fermented sparkling wine in the bottle - a milestone that paved the way for a winemaking tradition that has grown over generations.
In the 1950s, his brother Giovanni Marsura continued the legacy and focused on vineyard care, meticulous hand-picking and targeted selection of the grapes - principles that still characterize Marsuret's understanding of quality today.
The Marsura family - preservers and innovators
The Marsura family is at the heart of the company. Today, the management is in the hands of Ermes Marsura, son of Giovanni, who grew up in the vineyards and developed a deep understanding of working with the vines. As a bridge builder between tradition and modernity, Ermes has initiated a new phase of development - characterized by modern production techniques, technical know-how and a strong innovative force. Under his aegis, the winery was continuously modernized without losing its family spirit.
With Alessio and Enrico Marsura, the next generation, the future of the winery is already secured. The two sons bring fresh ideas, expertise and great enthusiasm to the business - a harmonious interplay of experience and innovation that will continue to shape Marsuret on its path.
The winery - Technological progress in harmony with nature
The winery is still located in Guia, in its original structure - but has now been extensively modernized. Hidden among its own vineyards, it is nestled in the wine landscape, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inside, tradition and technology are combined: the state-of-the-art production facilities ensure gentle processing and the highest wine quality, while at the same time great importance is attached to ecological sustainability.
Intelligent construction, energy-efficient processes and environmentally friendly methods are used to consciously reduce the carbon footprint of production. In this way, Marsuret is able to guarantee the highest quality while respecting and preserving the valuable environment of the Valdobbiadene hills.
The vineyards - diversity and manual labor on steep slopes
The estate's vineyards cover around 45 hectares, spread over the best sites in the Prosecco DOCG zone - including famous areas such as Cartizze, Col San Martino, Premaor, Rolle, Zuel and Le Serre. Particularly noteworthy is the exclusive single vineyard Cartizze, from which some of the house's highest quality sparkling wines originate.
Most of the vines are cultivated on extremely steep slopes, which makes the use of machines almost impossible. The work is traditionally done by hand - laborious but rewarding. This is because each plot has its own unique character due to its microclimate and specific soil structure. It is this diversity that gives Marsuret's Prosecco Superiore its complexity, finesse and expressiveness.
A winery with soul - quality, proximity and authenticity
Marsuret has deliberately specialized in the production of high-quality Frizzante and Spumante. All the Glera grapes used come from its own vineyards - a clear commitment to quality and to controlling every single step from the vine to the bottle.
What makes Marsuret special is not only its craftsmanship, but also the authentic, family atmosphere that can be felt in every bottle. The people behind the wine - currently Walter and Hermes Marsura in particular - run the business with passion and a strong awareness of origin and craftsmanship. Marsuret is therefore not just a Prosecco producer, but a symbol of genuine Italian passion for winegrowing in one of the most beautiful wine regions in the world. - Gerardo [TS04/25]
