Purple red with violet tones. Lively and typical of the Nero d'Avola of the Noto area: red fruits such as plums, currants and licorice. This is followed by carob, peppercorns and fig preserves, also mustard. Here it is not the weight of the tannin that matters, but rather its density. The palate exerts a centrifugal action, spreading the fragrance from the center outward, filling every nook and cranny with angular matter. - Gerardo [TS08/19]

Gerardo's Notes: Noto, cradle of the Sicilian Baroque and origin of Nero d'Avola, with its Mediterranean climate and white soils, is the ideal place to find the best quality of the noblest Sicilian grape variety. Santa Cecilia is the name of the Planeta family, and the decision to use it underlines the importance that this label has for the family. Elegant, powerful and balanced, it celebrates the unique flavors of the southernmost areas of Sicily, of pomegranate and licorice. It goes very well with cheese and meat dishes.
