  La Segreta Nero d'Avola is the latest addition to Planeta's traditional La Segreta line - and it comes with style and self-confidence. As a single-varietal representative of Sicily's most important indigenous grape variety, it combines the classic aromas of dark berries, ripe plums and fine cocoa with a pleasantly spicy hint reminiscent of Mediterranean herbs. These can also be found on the new label, which shows elements from the garden of the historic Ulmo estate - a visual commitment to the origins and natural diversity of the Sicilian landscape.

On the palate, the wine is surprisingly accessible and lively: It has an animating acidity, well-embedded tannins and a juicy, fruit-driven finish that does not make it seem heavy despite its depth. For a Nero d'Avola, it is surprisingly light-footed - almost playful - and is therefore not only suitable for strong dishes, but also as a versatile accompaniment to pasta, grilled vegetables or simply for a convivial evening with friends.
