The vines of Barolo Vigna Giachini are rooted in the limestone-covered Giachini site, which explains the muscolic construction of this Barolo. The wine is fatter, richer and smoother than the Arborina. On the nose there are notes of raspberry, mocha and tobacco. On the palate, Vigna Giachini reveals itself to be rich, sweet and expansive in flavor. As open-hearted and light on its feet as this Barolo may be, the finish is not stingy with noticeable tannin. - Gerardo [TS07/06]
