Rotfüssler · Vernatsch DOC 2021

  The “Rotfüssler” Vernatsch from the Schreckbichl Winery is an authentic representative of South Tyrolean wine tradition, elegantly embodying the lightness and fruitiness of the Vernatsch grape variety. Its name refers to the historic single vineyard “Rotfüssler,” located in the rolling hills around Girlan. Here, the grapes thrive on soils composed of moraine and sand deposits with porphyry debris, which lend the wine a delicate minerality. After selective harvesting, maceration and malolactic fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks, followed by four months of aging in concrete vats. This gentle vinification preserves the fruity aromas and ensures a clear, straightforward wine character.

In the glass, the “Rotfüssler” presents itself in a bright ruby red and unfolds an inviting bouquet of juicy cherries, red berries, and a hint of bitter almond. On the palate, it is mild and harmonious, supported by soft tannins and a subtle, refreshing acidity. The finish is round and lingering, making it a versatile accompaniment to a variety of dishes.
