Lagrein DOC 2022

  The Lagrein from St. Michael-Eppan embodies the characterful depth of an indigenous South Tyrolean red wine variety and exemplifies the fusion of terroir and expertise. The grapes thrive on moraine and sandy alluvial soils in the Gries vineyards near Bolzano and Lake Caldaro, where south-southeast exposure and the alpine microclimate allow for even ripening. After careful hand harvesting, the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and finally matured in large wooden barrels - a combination that clearly brings out the variety's typical spice and fruitiness.

In the glass, this Lagrein displays a deep ruby red color with violet reflections and unfolds aromas of ripe cherries, blackberries, and violets, complemented by a subtle earthy spice.
