Serpara Aglianico del Vulture Superiore DOCG comes from old vines in a vineyard covering just six hectares in the municipality of Maschito. The vines are rooted in mineral-rich volcanic soil at an altitude of 600 meters, which gives the wine its distinctive depth and elegance. Made exclusively from Aglianico grapes, it is a powerful yet complex red wine with great personality.
Aging in French Allier oak barrels tames the impetuous power of the grape variety and gives the wine a warm, silky texture. The bouquet reveals harmoniously intertwined nuances of vanilla, candied fruit, and Mediterranean herbs such as thyme. On the palate, Serpara is both imposing and smooth, a red wine with a majestic character that impressively embodies the essence of Aglianico del Vulture. - Gerardo [TS10/26]
