The Terre degli Svevi winery is located in the Italian region of Basilicata, nestled in the impressive landscape surrounding the extinct Vulture volcano. Here, the family is dedicated to growing grapes on volcanic soils mixed with clay, limestone, and tuff, which give the wines a special minerality and depth. The winery cultivates its vineyards with great care, placing particular emphasis on the Aglianico grape variety, which is considered the “king of Vulture” and is the most important red grape variety in the region.
The estate's wines also bear historical references in their names: for example, the Aglianico “Re Manfredi” is named after the son of Frederick II, who resided in Basilicata and symbolizes the family's connection to this unique terroir. Other wines such as “Bianca degli Svevi” and “Flordelis” are reminiscent of historical figures from the dynasty and reflect the tradition and passion of the winery.
