The small, family-run Fuligni winery is nestled in the rolling hills around Montalcino and looks back on a hundred years of history. Since its foundation in 1923, the estate has earned an excellent reputation for its uncompromising quality. The picturesque Renaissance monastery courtyard, the heart of the estate, has been restored by the current owners - the charming Professor Roberto Guerrini-Fuligni and his aunt Maria Flora Fuligni - with great care and respect for the historical substance. The result is an architectural gem that impresses with its quiet elegance and authentic 16th century charm.
The tasting rooms, which are among the most stylish in the entire region, are particularly impressive. Here, the encounter with wine becomes an aesthetic experience. The wine labels proudly bear the Lion of San Marco - a symbol of the Fuligni family's Venetian origins and part of their coat of arms. This connection to the ancient Republic of Venice is reflected not only in the noble appearance of the estate, but also in the family's approach to wine production: patience, discipline and a pronounced sense of quality are at the heart of their work.
All the wines come from the company's own ten hectares of vineyards, which are carefully tended and planted exclusively with Sangiovese. The vineyards are located at optimal altitudes near Montalcino and produce grapes which, in combination with traditional cultivation methods and modern know-how, are processed into wines of remarkable depth and elegance. Fuligni does not produce mass-produced wines - every drop is the result of artisanal dedication and a deep connection with the terroir.
