The Brunello di Montalcino from the small winery Eredi Fuligni is a prime example of the finest Tuscan craftsmanship. Carefully selected Sangiovese grapes from particularly privileged vineyards form the basis of this elegant wine, which is only produced in outstanding vintages. The classic ageing in large oak barrels for two to three years, supplemented by longer bottle ageing, gives the Brunello its distinctive balance, depth and structure.
On the nose, it develops a fine aroma of ripe cherries, plums and dried herbs, complemented by subtle hints of leather, tobacco and spices. On the palate, it is powerful yet polished, with firm tannins and a fresh acidity that lends it vitality and longevity. This Brunello is not only impressively accessible when young, but also reveals increasing nuances and complexity over the years - a wine of character and great ageing potential that authentically expresses the terroir of Montalcino. - Gerardo [TS10/20]
