The Castellare di Castellina winery, with its 80 hectares, is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, near the village of Castellina in Chianti. The almost 30 hectares of vineyards are located on high quality soils, with a southeastern exposure at an altitude of about 350-370m above sea level, forming a kind of natural amphitheater. In addition to the vineyard area itself, Castellare di Castellina also has about 12 hectares of olive groves and nearly 15 hectares planted with mixed crops. The roots of the winery date back to 1845, but Castellare di Castellina as we know it today is the result of a merger of five smaller wineries in 1968. The excellent terroir, consisting of the high quality and drainage soils, the calcareous marl and clay, as well as the good location, produce special wines.
