The Raboso grape variety, native to northern Italy, produces red wines with a strong character and tannins, with a certain astringency. Raboso is also quite astringent and somewhat acidic. The name is apparently derived from the word 'rabbioso' (wild). The wine is very suitable as a partner to strong meat dishes (also and especially grilled dishes on hot days). - Gerardo [TS09/14]
