Donnafugata, Sicily
Fragore, an Etna Rosso obtained from the Nerello Mascalese grape variety, shows a bright ruby red color. The bouquet is deep and reminiscent of sweet tobacco, nutmeg and currant, followed by balsamic notes and hints of flint. Complex and elegant on the palate, of marked minerality and present tannins, persistent on the finish. - Gerardo [TS06/19]
"Medium dense ruby with garnet glints. Opens on nuances of fresh blackberry, wild berry yogurt, the finest nougat cream and flint. Comes with compact structure, shows grip and plenty of minerality, stout tannin settles over the tongue, rich in body, pushes again on the palate on the finish." - Falstaff
Gerardo's Notes: Donnafugata has always been oriented towards the future, resembling an object in the universe attracted by invisible gravitational forces. Illustrator Stefano Vitale perfectly captures this perpetual motion in his latest illustration created for the Fragore label. Donnafugata continues its commitment to the most remote corners of Sicily: to the east to Vittoria and then to the highest peak of the island, Mount Etna.
