Goldmuskateller DOC 2023

  The Goldmuskateller from the Kaltern Winery is a lively expression of South Tyrolean winemaking, presenting the Moscato Giallo grape variety in its purest form. The grapes thrive in the warm, loamy-calcareous soils around Lake Kaltern, where the climatic conditions provide ideal conditions for the development of the characteristic muscat notes. After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and undergo a 12-hour cold maceration, followed by gentle pressing. The must clarifies naturally before fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. The wine then matures for three months on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks, which gives it additional freshness and structure.

In the glass, Goldmuskateller displays a brilliant golden yellow color. The bouquet seduces with intense aromas of nutmeg, ripe peach, and a hint of exotic fruits reminiscent of mango and passion fruit. On the palate, the wine is juicy and full-bodied, with a lively acidity that harmoniously balances its natural sweetness. The finish is pleasant and lingering, making Goldmuskateller a versatile companion for various occasions. It is excellent as an aperitif, with light appetizers, or as an accompaniment to desserts such as fruit cakes or strudel.
