  The “Patricia” Pinot Noir from the Girlan Winery is an elegant Pinot Noir that comes from three renowned growing areas in South Tyrol: Girlan, Mazon, and Pinzon. These vineyards are located at altitudes between 380 and 530 meters above sea level and are characterized by different soil types - from volcanic porphyry rock to loamy limestone soils. This diversity gives the wine depth and complexity. The grapes are harvested by hand and delivered in small containers to protect the berries from pressure. After destemming, maceration takes place for 12 to 15 days in stainless steel containers with gravity flow. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and 15 months of aging, partly in large wooden barrels and partly in barriques, as well as a further 6 months of bottle aging.

In the glass, Patricia presents itself in a clear, bright ruby red. The bouquet is characterized by aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherries and raspberries, accompanied by delicate spice notes and a hint of violets. On the palate, the wine shows a fresh, light structure with lively acidity and a juicy finish. Its velvety texture and well-integrated tannins make it a versatile accompaniment to dishes such as grilled poultry, game, or mild cheese. With an alcohol content of 13.5% vol. and a storage potential of over five years, Patricia is an expressive representative of South Tyrolean Pinot Noir. - Gerardo [TS10/23]
