Porphyr · Lagrein Riserva MAGNUM DOC 2022

  The “Porphyr” Lagrein Riserva from the Terlan Winery is an original interpretation of the indigenous Lagrein grape variety - vinified as a single variety and characterized by the mineral-rich soils of the Bolzano basin, from which the wine (“Porphyr”) takes its name. According to the records, the grapes come from three selected single vineyards with vines that are almost a century old - a fact that gives the wine its exceptional concentration and density. The vinification follows a consistent Riserva line: hand-picked grapes, temperature-controlled maceration, malolactic fermentation, and around 18 months of aging in barriques, including a proportion of new oak.

In the glass, Porphyr Lagrein reveals a dark ruby color with violet reflections - a visual promise of its depth and elegance. The nose unfolds a complex bouquet of sour cherry and blueberry, interwoven with licorice, vanilla pod, cloves, and a hint of black tea - an aromatic composition of fruit and spice. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet precise - juicy fruit meets peppery spice and a delicately sweet note of dark chocolate, carried by finely polished tannins that ensure a long, elegant finish.
