Kalterersee Classico Superiore DOC 2023

  The Kalterer See Classico Superiore from the Tramin Winery is a prime example of the lightness and elegance of South Tyrolean wine culture. Made from the indigenous Vernatsch grape variety, this wine thrives in the rolling hills around Lake Kaltern, where calcareous clay soils and a mild climate provide ideal conditions. After harvesting, the grapes are gently processed and fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve their freshness and fruitiness. The wine is mainly aged in large wooden barrels, which gives it additional depth without overpowering its delicate structure.

In the glass, Kalterer See Classico Superiore presents itself in a bright ruby red. The bouquet unfolds aromas of red berries, cherries, and a hint of bitter almond, which gives the wine a subtle spiciness. On the palate, it is soft and fruity, with a lively freshness and a mild tannin structure that make it particularly accessible.
