Fruity and floral, Asylia Rosso is the freshest and most accessible interpretation of the typical Calabrian grape varieties. This pure Gaglioppo is the result of a short maceration, which brings out its pleasant fruitiness and directness perfectly. In the glass, the wine glows an intense ruby red and develops a bouquet that combines aromas of red and black forest berries with fine spicy notes.
The Asylia Rosso delights the palate with its great freshness, silky texture and harmonious, full-bodied structure. The wine is lively and elegant at the same time, making it a modern representative of Calabrian wines. © www.librandi.it This red also comes from a historic vineyard which was painstakingly recultivated by Librandi: As the 'big brother' of the well-known Ciro, the Asylia Rosso has an intense bouquet of wild berries and fruits. Soft and full-bodied on the palate, the wine is slightly more expressive than the Ciro Rosso. The carefree lightness of the Gaglioppo grapes remains, and the discreet Burgundy-like traits of all Librandi wines are also evident here. - Gerardo [TS10/26]
