Fruity and floral at the same time, Asylia Bianco is the freshest and most accessible interpretation of the indigenous Calabrian grape varieties. This wine is made from 100% Greco Bianco, a grape with deep roots in the tradition of the Melissa region. The nose reveals a delicate bouquet reminiscent of grapefruit, lemongrass and white flowers, giving it a refreshing lightness.
On the palate, the Asylia Bianco is lively and fresh, with a harmonious acidity and a fruity structure reminiscent of citrus fruits and green apples. The mineral character of this wine, which is characterized by the special soil conditions of the old vineyard, gives it a deep complexity and strength. © www.librandi.it This white wine Asylia is less well known than its counterpart the Ciro Bianco and is also based on selected Greco Bianco grapes. The single vineyard of the same name shows great age and was recultivated by Librandi. The aged vines provide lower yields with higher extract. Asylia Bianco can be understood as an upscale version of Ciro Bianco and is recommended to lovers of mineral Sancerre, Riesling and Veltliner as a real alternative at a low price. - Gerardo [TS10/26]
