On the nose, hints of fruit, dried rose petals and some undergrowth. Dense and enveloping on the palate with good balance of bitterness and acidity. Nebbiolo-based 'Torretta' is Marco Porello's best-known wine: despite its feminine nature, this Roero Rosso is not unlike the great growths from Barolo and Barbaresco. - Gerardo [TS02/12]
