The Roero Rosso Torretta is Marco Porello’s flagship wine, hailing from a steep single vineyard that imparts its unmistakable character. In the glass, it displays a deep garnet red and captivates the senses with a complex bouquet: aromas of ripe forest fruits merge with the elegant scent of dried rose petals and a delicate, spicy note of undergrowth.
On the palate, this Nebbiolo Riserva impresses with a dense, enveloping structure that masterfully combines power with finesse. The balance between lively acidity and ripe tannins is perfectly struck. In its depth and complexity, the Torretta is reminiscent of the great wines of Barolo and Barbaresco, yet it reveals the charming, almost feminine elegance that is so typical of the sandy soils of the Roero. - Gerardo [TS10/21]
