Lagrein Kretzer DOC 2024

  The “Lagrein Kretzer” from the Muri-Gries monastery winery draws on a long tradition: the name ‘Kretzer’ comes from the “Kretze” used in the past - a woven basket used to separate the must from the pomace. Grown on the sunny slopes near Bolzano, the Lagrein vines are rooted in sandy alluvial soils with a southern exposure, conditions that allow for both freshness and strength of origin. In the cellar, this rosé from the indigenous variety is vinified entirely in stainless steel tanks - a process that emphasizes the varietal purity and lightness of this wine.

In the glass, Lagrein Kretzer is a light cherry red with subtle violet reflections - a visual promise of freshness and style. On the nose, aromas of cherry, raspberry, and red currant play harmoniously together and are accompanied by floral notes that lend the wine a delicate elegance. On the palate, the wine is lively and accessible - with youthful fullness, juicy fruit core, and a pleasant lightness on the finish.
