Vernatsch DOC 2022

  The “Vernatsch” from Muri-Gries is an authentic expression of South Tyrolean wine tradition and elegantly and casually reflects the connection between monastery, winery, and viticulture. The grapes thrive on the sun-drenched slopes around Bolzano and Appiano on mineral-rich alluvial soils and moraine debris—a terroir that promotes both lightness and power of origin. Careful work is carried out in the cellar: after hand harvesting, temperature-controlled fermentation takes place, and the wine is mainly aged in stainless steel tanks to bring out the clear fruit and varietal character.

In the glass, this Vernatsch displays a lively ruby red color with delicate violet reflections - a visual indication of freshness and style. The nose reveals aromas of heart cherry, red berries, and a hint of violets and almonds - a bouquet that conveys both elegance and regional identity. On the palate, the wine is smooth and accessible, with a juicy texture and well-integrated tannins - an uncomplicated yet stylish companion that goes well with regional cuisine such as bacon and cheese, or simply for convivial enjoyment. - Gerardo [TS10/23]
