Mantele · Sauvignon DOC 2022

  The “Mantele” Sauvignon from Nals-Margreid is a characterful white wine made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The vines thrive in the municipality of Nals at 330 to 400 meters above sea level, on a 150-meter-deep, calcareous clay-gravel soil formed by the Sirmian and Nalles streams. The climate is characterized by hot days and cool nights, which leads to slow and even ripening of the grapes. After selective hand harvesting, there is a short maceration period, followed by fermentation in wooden barrels with a capacity of 12 to 30hl. The wine then matures for eight months on the fine lees, which gives it additional complexity and structure.

In the glass, Mantele Sauvignon presents itself in an intense straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The bouquet is aromatic and complex, with aromas of citrus fruits, grapefruit, elderflower, and a hint of pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied and lively, with a fine minerality and a balanced acidity structure. The finish is long and harmonious. This wine is excellent as an aperitif or with dishes such as pumpkin risotto, pasta with pesto, or grilled fish.
