Penon · Weißburgunder DOC 2023

  The “Penon” Pinot Blanc from Nals Margreid comes from one of South Tyrol's most renowned vineyards, the “Penon” vineyard above Margreid. At altitudes between 500 and 600 meters above sea level, with an east-southeast orientation, the grapes ripen in a microclimate with Mediterranean influences. The soil consists of calcareous gravel with a high humus content, which gives the wine a special minerality. The grapes are harvested by hand, the must ferments at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks, followed by seven months of aging on the fine lees in 30-hectoliter wooden barrels.

In the glass, the “Penon” Pinot Blanc presents itself in a bright straw yellow color. The bouquet is clear and fresh, with aromas of green apples, citrus fruits, and a hint of white flowers. On the palate, the wine displays a fine structure, lively acidity, and an elegant minerality that is typical of the region. The finish is harmonious and long-lasting. This Pinot Blanc is ideal as an aperitif or with dishes such as antipasti, pasta with light sauces, or grilled fish.
