Galea · Vernatsch DOC 2022

  The “Galea” Vernatsch from the Nals-Margreid Winery is made from 100% indigenous Vernatsch (Schiava) grapes and has its roots in the high-quality hillside area of St. Magdalene above Bolzano , with a south-southeast exposure at 250-350 m above sea level, on well-aerated soils containing porphyry. The hand-picked grapes are gently processed, fermented in stainless steel tanks with gentle stirring, and then the wine matures for several months in large wooden barrels - a careful cellar management process that gives it structure yet lightness.

In the glass, Galea displays a bright ruby red color with garnet red reflections. The bouquet is distinctly typical of the variety, with fresh red berries such as cherries and raspberries, complemented by floral accents of violets and a subtle almond-like nuance. On the palate, it combines lively freshness with delicate fruitiness and slender elegance, accompanied by soft tannins and a smooth finish—a versatile wine that pairs easily with regional cuisine while offering enough character for more sophisticated combinations. - Gerardo [TS10/23]
