The Aglianico del Vulture Bariliott presents itself with a bright ruby red color and expresses the authenticity of the grape variety in an impressive way. On the nose, it unfolds a multi-layered aroma of ripe cherries, sour cherries, dark plums and wild berries, accompanied by fine mineral nuances and a hint of spicy herbs. This variety of aromas is reflected in a clearly structured, animating overall picture that makes the wine appear full of character from the very first impression.

On the palate, the Bariliott is juicy, lively and fresh with a dense yet elegant tannin structure that gives it backbone and depth. The present minerality gives the wine additional finesse and length on the finish. This Aglianico is an excellent accompaniment to game dishes, braised or grilled red meat and strong, mature cheeses. A powerful, yet very accessible wine that brings the volcanic origin of its vines to life in every facet. - Gerardo [TS10/24]

"Bright, intense ruby red. Ripe fruit notes on the nose, reminiscent of black cherries and plums, followed by black pepper and ethereal hints. Full of tension on the palate, starts juicy, followed by lots of spice, refreshing acidity structure, fine-grained, ripe tannins, lingering finish." - Falstaff

The “Bariliott Aglianico del Vulture” from Cantina Paternoster reflects the volcanic terroir of Monte Vulture in Basilicata with remarkable clarity. Belonging to the indigenous Aglianico del Vulture variety, it thrives on deep, basalt-rich soils with intense sunshine and high altitude. Careful hand harvesting, classic maceration, and aging in large Slovenian oak barrels give the wine depth and structure without losing its freshness. The name “Bariliott” refers directly to its place of origin, Barile, home of the Paternoster family, thus emphasizing its origin and identity.

In the glass, Bariliott displays a bright ruby color with lively reflections—a visual preview of its rich fruit and fine-grained structure. The nose reveals notes of ripe sour cherry, plum, and dark wild berries, accompanied by mineral depth and a delicate spiciness from Mediterranean herbs and spice notes. On the palate, the wine impresses with its juicy fruitiness, well-integrated tannins, and a noticeable mineral backbone, which typically comes from the volcanic subsoil. A versatile accompaniment to hearty meat dishes, braised game, or mature cheese, Bariliott speaks of origin, craftsmanship, and southern Italian passion. - Gerardo [TS10/24]
