The wine village of St. Magdalena above Bolzano gave its name to this important red wine. On the sunny hillsides to the north of the South Tyrolean capital, this special grape variety thrives on sandy, loose, well-aerated soils.
The appealing color is ruby to garnet red. The bouquet is floral and delicate, somewhat reminiscent of violets. In the drink dry and spicy with a subtle hint of almond. The strongest and at the same time most elegant among the Vernatsch wines - since this is diluted with a proportion of Lagrein. Which emphasizes the valuable fruitiness of St. Magdalener. - Gerardo
