This expression is by no means an exaggeration: Titolo has fundamentally changed the image of Aglianico del Vulture and raised it to a new qualitative level. Elena Fucci, whose name is now inextricably linked with viticulture in this region, has dedicated herself entirely to interpreting this powerful grape variety. In the rugged beauty of the Vulture region, at the foot of the extinct volcano Monte Vulture, wines with great depth, elegance and character are created - wines that reflect the terroir in every facet.
The winery was founded in 2000 - the result of a courageous decision: instead of selling the vineyards surrounding the family home, the young oenologist Elena decided to continue and reinterpret her family's legacy. The cellar was built directly under the house, which bears the name Torre Titolo, in rooms once used by her grandfather Generoso to store agricultural equipment. Today, this place is the heart of the vinification process. An initial extension was cut deep into the volcanic rock to create a natural barrique cellar - cool, stable and ideal for ageing great wines. Every corner of the winery is used, even father Salvatore's garage has become part of the business - a symbol of the family's uncompromising dedication. Aglianico del Vulture - the expression of a special terroir
The Aglianico grape variety is one of the oldest autochthonous vines in Italy and probably originated in ancient Greece, from where it came to the south of the peninsula as vitis helenica. It feels particularly at home on the deep, mineral-rich soils of volcanic origin - such as those found around the extinct volcano Monte Vulture in Basilicata. Aglianico is characterized by a long vegetation cycle, which offers a high ripening potential. The wines are deep ruby red in color, with great density and aromatic complexity, supported by fine tannins, lively acidity and enormous development potential. Properly vinified and given the necessary maturity, this grape produces red wines with a strong character that can be stored for decades.
Aglianico del Vulture DOC is grown in 15 municipalities in the hilly north of Basilicata, particularly around Rionero in Vulture, Barile and Melfi. The Fucci family's vineyards are located at an altitude of up to 600 meters above sea level, which also ensures freshness and elegance in the wines. The Fucci family has lived and worked in this region for four generations, deeply rooted in the local culture and agriculture. Today, their Titolo is a flagship for the region - a wine that is the result of passion, knowledge and tireless commitment.
