SCEG is the new project of Elena Fucci and of course another Aglianico del Vulture: the grapes come from a vineyard which Elena was able to acquire by chance, since the previous owner had abandoned it for age reasons. SCEG is a young Aglianico from old vineyards and is vinified only in stainless steel. - Gerardo [TS01/21]

Titolo is the result of the Fucci family's still young viticultural project. Together with her father Salvatore, Elena Fucci has created something impressive: This single-varietal Aglianico exudes a beguiling, ethereal aroma with distinct spicy notes. Pronounced, voluminous flavors of sour cherries, currants, rosemary and cinnamon followed by slight hints of vanilla. Soft and dry of great structure and excellent length. - Gerardo [TS01/21]

Titolo by Amphora · Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2020

Intense ruby color with garnet highlights, broad and complex bouquet with distinct spicy notes of pepper and fruit jam, currants and tobacco. Great aromatic finish with rich structure and marked youthful personality thanks to the even more pronounced spiciness and minerality. - Gerardo [TS01/21]

It leaves behind a caking of fine tannins that seem to slowly crackle and fade away, as notes of red plum and licorice resonate for over a minute. A vintage full of character and charm: concentrated, rich and balanced, with an intense ruby color. Elegant and soft tannic structure, concentrated and aromatic of herbs and spices. Rich fruit reminiscent of cherry and sour cherry, with aromatic persistence and a finish reminiscent of tobacco, supported by an acidic note that gives an impressive freshness. "The 2018 Aglianico del Vulture Titolo Superiore pulls me deep into the glass to take in its beguiling bouquet, as balsamic spice, incense and crushed ashen rocks evolve into a mix of blackberries, sage and hints of animal musk. Cool-toned and finessed, this impresses with its savory, nearly salty character and perfumed black fruit profile, as brisk acids maintain a lovely freshness. A twang of sour citrus adds a bump of nervous energy toward the close, as the 2018 finishes with a web of silty tannins and hints of black currant that linger on. The Superiore is a selection that's refined for 12 months in tonneaux, followed by 12 months in used barrels and, finally 12 months in the bottle. It's aromatically stunning, with added textural depth and an enhanced structure that outhweighs the 2018 Titolo.
