Grappa Giulia from Distillerie Berta is a barrel-aged pomace brandy of exceptional elegance, whose clear, amber color already reveals the time and care that went into its production. It is made from the pomace of the white grape varieties Chardonnay and Cortese, which are primarily cultivated in Piedmont for high-quality white wines. After discontinuous distillation in traditional copper pot stills, the grappa is aged for around ten to twelve months in Slavonian oak, a wood that gives it soft, vanilla and spicy nuances and harmoniously complements the fruity freshness of the grapes. This combination of fruit, wood, and long maturation gives Giulia an elegant, balanced bouquet in which peach and tropical fruit aromas intertwine with delicate vanilla notes, creating a sensory impression of richness and finesse.
On the palate, Giulia is soft and harmonious with a smooth texture created by targeted barrel aging; the fruity components of the Chardonnay and Cortese pomace notes combine with a warm, vanilla spice and end in a long-lasting, balanced finish. The name “Giulia” was chosen in homage to Enrico Berta's daughter, expressing a personal, family side to the distillery, which has been cultivating the grappa tradition in Piedmont since 1947 and continues to develop its artisanal distilling skills year after year.
