Wine by Price | 200-225 Euros

The price of a bottle of Italian wine is just as broad as the range of grapes and wine varieties: from simple wines by the glass around five euros, to good drinking wines in the price range between five and ten euros, to premium wines whose prices know no bounds. Not only the quality of the used grapes, the kind and the craft skill of the wine production as well as the development play a role. The number of bottles produced also has an impact on the price of the wine. Expensive wine icons are usually only produced in small quantities, whereas wines that accompany food are produced in much larger numbers. - Gerardo

´Carano´ · Lagrein Riserva DOC 2019 (6er Holzkiste), Baron di Pauli, Südtirol

Carano · Lagrein Riserva DOC 2019 (6er Holzkiste)

Baron di Pauli, South Tyrol

Six bottles of Lagrein Riserva Carano in a high quality original wooden box with sliding lid:

The name Carano comes from the native origin of the Di Pauli family in Val di Fiemme. A single-varietal Lagrein of deep dark color, with notes of cherries, blackberries and plums on the nose. In the drink very juicy, with spicy notes and smooth tannins. Pleasantly soft and round in the finish. - Gerardo [TS08/20]

"Deep dark, very rich purple. On the nose of graphite, ripe black currant, heart cherries and white pepper. Dense-bodied palate, builds big, delicate melt, though at the moment still overly marked by the use of wood, still needs to settle down." - Falstaff

´Barrile´ · Isola dei Nuraghi IGT 2015 (6er Holzkiste), Attilio Contini, Sardinien

Barrile · Isola dei Nuraghi IGT 2015 (6er Holzkiste)

Attilio Contini, Sardegna

Six bottles of Isola dei Nuraghi Barrile in an original wooden box:

The powerful Barrile comes from the lower Tirso Valley and is almost entirely made from the native grape variety Nieddera: the color in the glass is an intense ruby red with garnet inclusions. The aroma is complex and intense, with delicate spicy and fruity notes. The palate is dense and mild, always balsamic and accompanied by pleasant wood spice. - Gerardo [TS12/16]

"Barrile is an austere, dense wine with intense hints of dark red fruit and maquis. On the palate, freshness and spice refine the imposing body, while the soft, silky tannins give it quaffable drinking pleasure." - Gambero Rosso

´TRES´ · Merlot-Cabernet Riserva DOC 2016, Kellerei Kurtatsch, Südtirol

TRES · Merlot-Cabernet Riserva DOC 2016

Kellerei Kurtatsch, South Tyrol

TRES is an exceptional South Tyrolean red wine that is harvested and vinified in the best vintages from the three oldest and highest quality small parcels. These plots are located on red, sandy loam and gravelly dolomite soils in the Brenntal area, where the Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties combine to create a unique Alpine-Mediterranean cuvée.

Two decisive factors shape the creation of this icon: careful ageing in the barrel and in the bottle, which ensures that the wine unfolds its full splendor in the ideal drinking window. Since 2015, the best small parcels, often just a few rows of vines within a vineyard, have been vinified separately. This meticulous selection, the optimal conditions in the vineyard, the age of the vines and the low yield are the basis for a cuvée with alpine character, crisp fruit and pronounced freshness.

TRES stands for the number 'three' (from the Italian 'tre') and symbolizes three core values: the appreciation of the unique terroir, the dedication of a young and dynamic team and the down-to-earth work of the members. This cuvée combines the best of the three grape varieties and tells of a long history and a deep passion for Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is the expression of an uncompromising connection with the terroir, a constant striving for excellence and the desire to redefine the previous limits of what is possible.
