  The “Tres” Merlot-Cabernet Riserva from the Kurtatsch Winery embodies the pursuit of the highest standards of viticulture in South Tyrol with impressive consistency. The oldest plots of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon grow on the warm, steep slopes of “Brenntal,” on red sandy loam soils and gravelly dolomite rock. This is where an Alpine-Mediterranean cuvée is created, for which careful hand harvesting, low yields, and many years of barrel and bottle aging are essential.

In the glass, Tres reveals a deep ruby color with garnet red glints—a visual promise of concentration and finesse. The bouquet entices with aromas of blackcurrant, ripe blackberry, and licorice, accompanied by notes of tobacco and leather as well as a subtle spiciness that bears witness to the hillside vineyards and sustainable viticulture.
