The pure Merlot Poggio ai Merli impressively represents the grape variety and the Tuscan terroir. The bouquet is characterized by aromas of plums, Amarena cherries and rhubarb, followed by notes of tobacco and licorice. Immensely juicy on the palate, persistent in the aftertaste. Owner Paolo Panerai follows the ideal of traditional Chianti; international grape varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet are not found there. The Merlot vines were planted in 1978 in the Orgno vineyard and used in the wine of the same name more than ten years later. This minimum age of the vines guarantees high quality product: intense ruby color in the glass, on the nose notes of ripe red fruit, leather, truffle and licorice. On the palate of rich and balanced structure, enveloping and powerful.

This wine from the Prestige line of the Fasoli brothers is the result of decades of research into the Valpolicella terroir. The selection of suitable vineyards and their exposure, the understanding of the microclimate and the extremely limited grape material allow for a truly great wine. The rich, impenetrable ruby red color with violet reflections immediately attracts attention. The aroma of this Lagrein selection is multi-faceted and extremely intense. It is characterized by a hint of liquorice, coffee beans, vanilla pod, cloves and black tea. It is both spicy and juicy and fruity, with aromas reminiscent of sour cherries and blueberries. The taste is a harmonious composition with very compact and concentrated, multi-layered aromas.
