The Montefico single vineyard of Produttori del Barbaresco is characterized by its calcareous soils, which give this wine its unmistakable character. The deep dark ruby red color with garnet red reflections already hints at the complexity that unfolds in the bouquet: aromas of dark fruits, fine spices, and subtle pastry notes combine to create a multi-layered fragrance.
On the palate, Montefico is powerful and densely structured, supported by distinctive tannins that give it depth and expression. The long, elegant finish rounds off the experience and makes this Barbaresco a wine of great finesse and impressive aging potential. - Gerardo [TS10/20]
"The 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Montefico is one of the most searingly tannic wines in the range. Readers will have to be patient with the 2019, as it is going to need time. As always, Montefico is a Barbaresco built on linear intensity more than size. In 2019, the qualities are quite accented.
