  Argiola's Cannonau di Sardegna “Costera” impressively combines Sardinian origins with varietal elegance: the Cannonau grape variety—genetically related to Garnacha—grows in the limestone- and clay-rich soils of the hills around Serdiana, where the sea breeze and Mediterranean climate promote lively yet ripe fruit. According to the producer, this wine is vinified with a targeted maceration period of around ten to twelve days, followed by maturation in cement tanks - steps that combine structure and authenticity.

In the glass, Costera presents itself in a rich ruby color with garnet red shimmer - a sensual sign of its depth and complexity. The nose reveals aromas of ripe cherries, red forest berries, and Mediterranean herbs such as myrtle and thyme, complemented by a subtle spiciness reminiscent of pepper or delicate tobacco notes. On the palate, the wine is balanced and powerful: velvety tannins envelop the fruit, a salty undertone hints at the stony terroir, and the finish is long-lasting - an excellent accompaniment to grilled lamb, roast pork, or aged Pecorino cheese, and at the same time a representative of Sardinian wine tradition with character. - Gerardo [TS10/22]
