Pure variety Grillo of pale yellow color. Intense and dense aroma of flowers, lime and some almond. Juicy on the palate with fine, refreshing acidity and persistent finish. - Gerardo [TS12/23]
"Intense bright lemon yellow. Exceedingly fragrant of elderberry and lime, plus yellow fruit, ripe quince on the nose. Spans finely velvety over the tongue, appears compact in the core, shows pressure and juicy game, fine salt lemon enlivens the medium-long finish." - Falstaff
Gerardo's Notes: The Grillo variety is now once again one of the most important vines in Sicily, after a long period of sharp decline in cultivation. The Shamaris is characterized above all by its unique minerality and its fine nature. The grapes for this typical Sicilian white wine come from 400 to 500 meter high vineyards not far from Monreale, in the Tenuta Monte Pietrosa. The sandy, mineral-rich soils and the proximity to the sea proved to be the ideal place for growing Grillo. The Shamaris is fermented and aged only in stainless steel, where it matures for about four months sur lie. A great new product, it goes well with fish and seafood.
