  The “Quintessenz” Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva from the Kaltern Winery is a prime example of the high level of craftsmanship in South Tyrolean winemaking culture. This red wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, which thrive in the best locations around Lake Kaltern. The grapes benefit from the ideal climatic conditions of the region, which ensure slow and even ripening. After harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature. Aging on the fine lees in large wooden and concrete tanks gives the wine additional complexity and structure.

In the glass, the Quintessenz Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva presents itself in a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The bouquet unfolds aromas of ripe blackcurrants, blackberries, and a hint of cinnamon and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is powerful and full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins and a long, elegant finish.
