  The “Stern Sauvignon” from the Kaltern Winery is an outstanding embodiment of South Tyrol's terroir and the stylistic clarity of a high-quality Sauvignon interpretation. Vinified from the single grape variety Sauvignon Blanc, this wine is produced by cooled whole grape pressing and short cold maceration - processes that bring the distinctive aroma profile of the variety to the glass with maximum freshness. Its origin in hillside vineyards with sandy-loamy marl on primary rock (porphyry, granite) ensures pronounced minerality and a fine structure. In addition, a portion of the mash fermentation in large wooden barrels contributes to depth without transforming the variety into outdated arcadion.

In the glass, Stern Sauvignon impresses with a light straw-gold color and delicate greenish reflections that underscore its liveliness. The bouquet unfolds a delicate interplay of aromas of elderflower, cassis, and exotic fruits, accompanied by typical Sauvignon notes such as freshly cut grass or green peppers—a combination of aromatic expressiveness and alpine freshness. On the palate, the wine is both elegant and juicy, with fine spice and a subtle salty minerality that adds excitement to the finish.
